I liked it being close to food and shopping areas.
The bus load of visitors who disturbed the peace and quite of my room and how nasty they are putting their bare feet on the lobby tables. Those people were low class and uncivilized.

Convenient and cozy family escape
The location is unbeatable, just a short stroll to the beach and nearby malls, while our spacious and clean rooms were nice. The staff, especially the cleaners and porters, brought warmth to our experience with their friendliness. We also enjoyed the beautiful rooftop patio, perfect for relaxation.
We faced some challenges, like limited parking and a breakfast buffet that could use a bit more variety. Noise from neighboring rooms sometimes disrupted our peaceful moments.

The rooftop pool offers very nice sunset views.
The Wi-Fi was virtually nonexistent in our room, forcing us to stand in the corridor just to connect. Adding to our frustration, the staff were unhelpful. Despite acknowledging the problem, they refused to provide a different room or seem interested in resolving the issue. The attitude of the front desk was dismissive, which compounded our feelings of being unwelcome.

Roofside pool, albeight a little small, is excellent. Great place to relax daytime.
Aircondition is a little over the top effective. The room was chilly, even at the low setting of the air-con. But if you like the room cool, this wont be a problem.

I like the location on Sabai Empress, its just off the main road and close to everything. The staff are friendly especially the cleaning staff who considering their job role never fail to have a big grin and chuckle on their face every morning.
To be honest the Sabai Empress is basic. Ive stayed twice and both times theres no service staff in the pool area on roof so you have to phone which then takes twice as long to get a drink. The beds I found were like sleeping on a rock, so hard it made my back ache for the first few days but after a few massges its all ok. Only thing I would say about the buffet breakfast is that its a bit mundane and dry. However food is food and being buffet you take what you can get. But when staying there for longer than a few days would be nice to change it up a bit.

The rooftop area is a stellar spot for chilling out, especially during sunset-it makes for an unbeatable view. The spacious rooms pack in a whole lot of light, and the coffee provided during breakfast is a nice perk for early risers.
The noise from the street can be a bit much, with windows that haven't been well insulated. I also noticed the air conditioning unit rattled loudly, which didn't help the overall peace. When it comes to power outlets, they were few and far between. Lastly, the rooms lacked outdoor balconies, a bummer for those hoping to catch some fresh air.

I liked the front desk workers who were helpful and cared that I was comfortable and enjoyed my stay.
At breakfast, I asked the chef if there was any vegetarian dish. All the items laid on the buffet breakfast had some meat or egg. When the chef knew that I was vegetarian, he went in and prepared a vegetarian dish and served it to me in about 10 minutes. I was really touched by this hospitable gesture.
